Mission
The Denver Women’s Sports Collective mission is a networking group designed to connect, empower and support like-minded women within Denver’s event and sports industry.
Position
As Sponsorship Chair, said person will provide leadership to DWSC’s non-profit as it transitions from a newly formed 501(c)(3) organization into a sustainable entity recognized by the state of Colorado. Specific responsibilities include:
• Work with event chair and staff partner to adhere to all DWSC policies and procedures, as well as Colorado’s 501c3 limitations.
• Recruit a subcommittee to research, identify, solicit and obtain sponsors.
• Compile a prospect list each month, consisting of past and potential new sponsors. • Work with entire board to ensure sponsors receive all contracted amenities and year-round engagement and recognition.
• Attend annual event, as well as ensure as least one sponsorship committee member is present at each monthly event where a sponsorship contract is being fulfilled.
• After each event, compile proof of performance package that includes all print materials and branding promotions where logo appeared.
• Assist with identifying the appropriate person for succession of your position. Board terms
• The DWSC Memberships Chair will serve a 12-month term to be eligible for re-appointment one month before termination of that term. Board meetings will be held monthly, and committee meetings will be held as determined by chair needs and evaluation.
• A board member can run for re-appointment as many times as they see, with the understanding that someone can oust them upon reelection.
Qualifications
This is an extraordinary opportunity for an individual who is passionate about the success of DWSC’s members and who has a track record of organization and strong communication skills. Person should
also have some sort of sales or sponsorship background. His/her accomplishments will allow him/her to attract other well-qualified, high-performing board members.
Ideal candidates will have the following qualifications:
• Extensive professional experience with significant executive leadership accomplishments in sports business or events.
• Demonstrated success in a position in sales or sponsorship.
• Track record of being well-organized and reliable.
• Ability to aggressively meet goals and set financial standards that assist the club in meeting their budgetary means each fiscal year.
• A commitment to and understanding of Denver Women’s Sports Collective beneficiaries and mission.
• Ability to relay messages to a broad audience in a timely fashion.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills coupled with natural affinity for public speaking • Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and a passion for improving the lives of DWSC’s beneficiaries, members and supporters.
***Service on DWSC board of directors is without remuneration, except for administrative support, travel, and accommodation costs in relation to board members’ duties if there is a need.
