Meet Kelly evans.
My name is Kelly Evans and I am an Assistant Professor of Sport Management at MSU Denver. My areas of research and teaching are sport marketing, consumer behavior, sport economics, and sport finance. I earned my degrees from the University of South Carolina (Go Gamecocks!) before moving to Denver in 2019. While completing my degrees, I also worked for the Lexington County Blowfish Baseball Club, a team within the Coastal Plain League, a collegiate summer league that uses wooden bats instead of aluminum. I started as an intern and worked my way up to become the team’s first female General Manager; an accomplishment of which I’m extremely proud. I’ve also worked in the events industry planning local concerts and festivals, as well as various part-time positions within the MiLB, NBA, and NFL.
I am passionate about mentorship in the sport industry and know first hand how valuable it is. This is what motivated me to join DWSC in the first place and, eventually, join the board. I am so proud to be a part of this awesome group of women and their allies, and am excited to see where this journey takes us all!
When I get an off day, I enjoy exploring all Denver has to offer with my husband, Jason, including craft beer, hiking, camping, concerts, comedy, and, of course, sports!
